OPD Solutions to Launch Software Certification Program

Houston – January 24, 2005 - OPD Solutions, a leading international consulting group specializing in supply chain management, today announced the launch of OPD TOM® CertificationPro™, a formal software solutions certification program. This program certifies software solutions that are compliant with OPD’s world-class integrated business process model for supply chain planning. The program includes various levels of certification across four supply chain planning-related categories:

Enterprise Supply Chain Planning—provides for an end-to-end integrated solution for the entire supply chain planning process.

Manufacturing Management—focuses on the area of detailed supply/demand alignment, and the generation of enterprise-level execution plans that ultimately increases planner productivity, flexibility, and accuracy.

Supply/Inventory Management—involves all aspects of the supply chain, including current and projected inventories, field inventories such as VMI, supplier collaboration, multi-sourcing and prioritized supply lines.

Order Management—covers the area of booking orders and managing inventory pulls against a prioritized, yet flexible supply plan, on a real-time basis.

OPD Solutions Certifies APS Software Solution from IBM

Houston - February 10, 2005 - OPD Solutions, a leading international consulting group specializing in supply chain management, today announced the first software solution to be certified under its new TOM® CertificationPro™ program. The IBM Operational Framework for Advanced Supply Chain Planning is now certified at the Gold level within the program. This software suite was originally developed by IBM to facilitate its own internal supply chain transformation, and has been commercially available for the last year.

OPD recently launched the TOM® CertificationPro™ program to certify software solutions that are compliant with its world-class integrated business process model for supply chain planning when jointly implemented. The program includes various levels of certification across four supply chain planning-related categories. The IBM Operational Framework software suite is certified in the category of Enterprise Supply Chain Planning. This category covers the business process areas of:

Resource Management— Balances the worldwide supply line with a rules-driven enterprise-level supply/demand alignment process for the best possible use of all assets.

Demand Management — Profiles products and customers to proactively support service levels and customer priorities while balancing a minimum level of inventory.

Manufacturing Management — Automatically generates worldwide by-site build plans and increases planner productivity, flexibility, and accuracy.

Order Management — Books orders and manages inventory pulls against a prioritized, yet flexible, supply plan on a real-time basis

Seamlessly integrates the end-to-end business processes


“The IBM Operational Framework complements our Total Order Management (TOM®) business process model because it was developed in conjunction with the implementation of the TOM® model in the IBM Microelectronics Division,” says OPD President Mike Morrissette. “This is one software solution that supports enterprise level supply chain planning when implemented with the TOM® model. Although it was originally developed for a semiconductor application, it will work well for any constraints-based planning process.”
