- Identify an executive sponsor who is responsible
for setting the direction of the reengineering effort
- Define a set of business objectives aimed at challenging
the current processes
- Identify a cross functional Core Team of knowledgeable
business managers, as well as focused Sub Teams of key business process
users
- Use of the Total Order Management (TOM®) business
process model as a straw man
- Structured consensus meetings to address rules,
data and process definitions for all end-to-end integrated processes,
including:
- Process owners
- Level of detail
- Maintenance
- Degree of automation
- Assess the current business processes and identify
gaps to the TOM® business process model
- Implement the process by reviewing the TOM®
model and then tailoring the process to fit the organization:
- Review model details and process inter-dependencies with key
business drivers
(Core Team) of the company
- Where required, tailor the model to encompass unique business
requirements via the use of key process users (Sub Teams)
- Implement the process through change management enabled by the
business and key process drivers
